Within walking distance of Blaak is the historic Old Harbour. This is an attractive area with terraces, restaurants and historic ships. It is also home to the White House, the first European skyscraper built in 1898. The latest architectural masterpiece is the Central Library Rotterdam, located next to the Market Hall. It consists of a striking yellow tube structure and is one of the largest libraries in the Netherlands. It is a wonderful place to unwind.
